OVIQ Inspection Editor – Registration and Introduction

Audience: OVID inspectors

This chapter will cover the following areas:

Registering the OCIMF OVIQ Inspection Editor software

On first use of the OCIMF OVIQ Inspection Editor software after installation the user will need to register the installation against their OVID inspector credentials.

Enter the account number, username and password as provided by OCIMF, ensure the service is set to “Live” then click Login.

The login and product registration process will then run to configure the software.

Editor settings and features

The main editor screen has the following elements:

  1. New inspection button
  2. Import inspection button
  3. Document list
  4. List/Grid toggle
  5. News and announcements list
  6. Updates button
  7. Settings button

Click the settings button to view information which could be requested by OCIMF Helpdesk to aid a support query. Settings options also include editor localisation to switch between UK (GB English spelling dictionary and A4 paper) and US (US English spelling dictionary and Letter paper).

Updating the software and templates

OCIMF will periodically release an update both to the editor software itself and to the templates it uses to build the inspection documents. There are two types of update:

  1. Software update: if OCIMF releases an update to the software itself you will be notified next time you open the editor.

  2. Just click “Download now” to update your software version. No settings will be changed and your documents will remain unaffected. Click “Download later” to install the update at a later date.
  3. Template updates: The OVIQ questionnaires are template driven so that changes can be released to the contents and structure of an OVIQ questionnaire without requiring an upgrade to the software itself. If updates have been released to the templates a yellow bar will show at the top of the editor.

  4. Click the “Updates” button to update the templates and other configuration information. Your account number and username are stored as part of the editor installation/configuration so only the password is required for update operations.
